Side vents are the new tail fins - your worth as a human being is measured by the chrome of your side vents.

#4, In the past, about the 50s-60s the portholes on your buick showed how expensive it was. The more the better..... At least thats what I've been told by my father/relatives that grew up around that time.

#5, Generally, yeah. Although it changed a little from year to year, the top-level Buicks generally had four and the lower-levels had three.
And the add-on portholes actually started in the 1950s....people would buy them through J.C. Whitney and stick them on Chevy Bel Airs, Ford Fairlanes, etc. I have no idea why they've resurfaced lately, though.

#8, Skid was referring to the resurgence of portholes, but I think you're right about the fender vents being the Range's fault.
