Gen III small blocks in FDs are getting fairly common, due to the high number of cooked rotaries out there.

Unlike most swaps, however, the V8 actually is heavier (it seems like LS engines are lighter than pretty much anything, but they're not as light as a 13b). The result is an extra 27 pounds in the front end....and although I wouldn't think that would make much of a difference, some cornering fanatics insist that any ounce of extra weight in the front can be felt.

EDIT: Granted, that's also only the dressed engine weights. When you figure weight distribution, the rotary does have high-mounted cast iron turbos mounted high on the engine, as well as intercoolers and an oil cooler mounted far in front of the front wheels.

harbl. my neighbour has a modded fd tt. i have never seen it leave the garage in 4 years. it's ran.....but it has never moved
