Next time photoshop the logo off the wheels :P

#4, Not many people know what the Bertone logo looks like off-hand, including me... so if you immediately knew those were Bertone logos, props to you.

I believe only the engine was by BMW, however... the vehicle itself was styled and built in Italy... other than the BMW engine and Bertone styling bits, it's basically a Daihatsu Rocky.

#5, I thought it unusual that you'd post a "guess this truck" thread for a Daihatsu Rocky so soon after RRB posted a Rocky, then I saw the Bertone logos on the wheels and GIS'd "bertone 4x4" and came up with this. You're right about the engine, though I saw a lot of sites referring to it as a "BMW Bertone" or "Bertone by BMW".

Bertone intended to make a "mini-Range Rover" with this thing, apparently. With the smooth BMW diesel, and a very luxurious interior and better-riding suspension, this thing was trying to be as far away from a regular Daihatsu as possible.
