I've been a Christian for many years and I am more convinced every day that Jesus would be embarrassed, or even angry, over the actions of many who claim to follow him. |

Kind of reminds me of the trailers for Covenant Transport, with the text on the back that say "IT'S NOT A CHOICE, IT IS A CHILD."
Must be nice to have a giant rolling soapbox to make yourself heard by the entire populace. At least if you're a self-righteous prick, anyway. |

#2, So very true. One of the recent fads over here is putting the christian fish symbol (ichtys) on backs of cars. I have never, ever been witness of the owner of such marked vehicle doing anything 'christian' on the road. When I get a car, I'm putting Cthulhu ichtys on. |

And I thought the 'conversion' vans were bad. Now we've got this.
On the plus side - it's not as fast - it's buggered by hills - it's buggered by areas that forbid jake brakes - it's buggered by weigh scales - and it's buggered by spring weight restrictions. |

#8, You have the choice to turn your jake brakes on or off. And I don't use them in areas with a sub 70 km/h speed limit, it's useless, unless you're heavy and there's a lot of steep hills. Most of the oldschool drivers use it for show.

As an Atheist, these people scare me because they can vote in elections. |

Ive been an atheist for a while, back before every teenager with bad skin and trench coat decided they'd renounce God for the shock value. To me, the whole of organized religion is too varied and contradictory for me to derive any edification from. I don't harbor any ill will towards people who practice a religion...if faith is what makes you happy, then who am I to judge? I will say however, that people who use God and obscure passages from the Bible as a shield in defending their ridiculous prejudices are intolerable douchebags. |

#11, Agreed. Nothing pisses me more that such idiots, especially since so many of them pray on people in some sort of trouble, brainwashing them and sucking all their wealth. |

#11, It's the twisting of those passages that rile me up - especally when you have a point to prove in an argument and you really need to win it.
"Oh but it was already explained in the bible thousands of years ago. When he said 'the sun' he really meant electricity. So therefore electricity is explained in the bible generations before it was 'discovered'."

#10, Different views are bad!
I agree with a surprising amount of this thread. Even though I do agree with the sentiment in the picture and I am a Christian, I do wonder just whats going on in peoples heads when they condemn everything under the sun as if it was up to them to judge. |

There's a PSA billboard that I drive by from time to time that says
"Why do Athiests hate the USA?" with the phone number for some curch on it. Way to go there folks, if your goal was to convert them, you've now thuroughly pissed them off, well, some of them, but you certainly haven't turned anyone on with that message but yourselves |

#15, That's right! We hate the USA!
Some day, the persectued Protestant silent majority will tire of the heathen ways of arrogant, loudmouthed cowardly child molesters who don't pray to gods. The Blessed will all raise their hands to the sky, and call upon God to smite the nonbelievers who've kept them down for so long. And once they've been smote (smoten? smited? smitten? smiteded?), God's people will rise up and take control of this great nation (which God favors above all overs, naturally) and instill a new sense of MORALITY....good, old fashioned bible-thumping, school-praying, intelligent-designed, fag-stomping, patriarcal MORALITY.
And of course, I'll be there to suffer their wrath. Or maybe to tell them to fondle my balls. |
