Apparently the town has a no-chase policy, but an officer (who is apparently also the police chief's son) initiated this pursuit anyway.
The sad part is, even though an officer broke protocol, the department or officer will accept no responsiblity for the damage or injuries from this freaking five-car pileup, and will probably have to be taken to court.
