So I'm driving Archie tonight (72 Impala for any newbies). The fuel gauge hasn't worked in 30+ years. I decided I should get some gas. Instead of going to my regular station, I went to a station that I haven't been to in years. As I get out of the car I notice a guy sitting on the curb by the entrance to the convenience store. I'm thinking he's gonna ask me for money. But when he gets up and starts to walk toward the door, I figure he works there. Then he looks at me and says "Boy, I was glad to see you get out of the car." I was all "huh?". I didn't know this guy. He was glad it was me and not the guys from the previous night. These guys pull up in what he described as a car that looked just like mine. They try to walk out of the store with beer without paying for it. The clerk attacked the one guy, knocking him senseless until the cops showed up to arrest him. The other guys got away. So I guess that's why he was relieved it was me. Kinda weird.
