If so, it must be related to the radar Archie has which allowed him to break down JUST as I pulled into my driveway a few weeks ago. Bad HEI module, just like that. What are odds of one of those breaking in the driveway? I tried to calculate it and I got confused. Any math guys wanna take a stab at it? My driveway is probably 60 feet long. I drive an average distance of 10 miles when I go somewhere. Seemed like it should be easy to figure out...until I got into it... |

#3, To make the calculation a little more interesting, the car didn't just break down in the driveway, I got it to roll all the way to the very last inch, precisely where I always park it. Those odds are even slimmer I would imagine. |

#3, You reminded me to calculate the probability of my junker surviving 99,5% or all rallies with no mechanical difficulties whatsoever only to suffer a flat, missing reverse, no idle, completely fucked up mixture (more like a torrent of gas straight into the throttle body), flat battery and recently a dead starter motor just by spending a night on the parking lot. |

#5, Or my car, which ran fine when it was parked last August with suspension issues. It was still as roadworthy as it ever was while I was commuting in it before summer, but it needed suspension work. Which led to my dad saying, well, if we take it apart for suspension, we might as well rebuild the engine. And if the engine comes out, we might as well get the car repainted. And if we're doing all that work, we should fix the wiring. And since we're fixing the wiring, we should replace the taillights. And since we're going to repaint it, that requires disassembly, so we can replace the weatherstripping and side trim and fix the rust. And reupholster the interior and fix the A/C system. Several months and about $500 in parts later, it still sits in the same exact place covered in dust with no wheels and hasn't started since the day it was parked. I wish I knew how to fix this crap and actually had the time to do it. |

#6, This reminds me of the only time we decided to do some work on my junker the day before a rally. Result? We finished at 3 a.m. After that, pretty much no work was done to it, save for critical stuff done by workshops. As my friend put it: old shit doesn't stink until you stir it.
#5, I suck at maths, besideds I guess even a maths professor would give up. I mean, you can explain one or two of these things but not all of them occuring at once. |
