Description:
With Pontiac possibly gone, where does GM go with the G8?

2010 Chevrolet Chevelle, maybe?

#1, Yeah, but that would be more for comfort and luxury... probably like the Chinese PA based on the Statesman.

Saw a G8 yesterday. They're awfully rare here.

I say they rename it the Impala and drop that cars current lame duck W-body platform. However it'd be a gamble seeing as how big RWD V8 powered cars are seemingly going the way of the dodo in America (GM cut its production by a whopping margin this year). I'd keep the LLT V6 trim though, and probably drop the high level GXP trim in favor of a more reserved SS option with the L76 V8 it has now. The things biggest strength is that it unseated the Charger as the best in the big sedan market, but it is built as the best handler in GM's lineup (next to the Vette of course) so I'd focus it against the sport/luxury markets like Mercedes and BMW more.

#5, Yeah, since it's been such a resounding sales success...

I swear, most people can't appreciate good cars.

#6, I'm just saying what I'd do to the model provided it wasn't teetering on the brink of obscurity.

#6, The trouble is nobody bothers to research. People don't take pride in their automotive purchases; buying a new car just seems like work to most people. They pick out something that they think looks cool or cute, and buy it without a second thought.

#10, They should adapt the Ecoboost V6 for the Mustang, then boost hp on the V8.

Hey, Jalopnik stole my idea... http://jalopnik.com/5230175/should-...camaro-ss-sedan

Granted, it's an easy idea to arrive at.

#15, Unfortunately, it didn't up looking as good. I've actually finally seen an SS on the street, and it's extremely... underwhelming.

It somehow lacks the presence the G8 had.

[edit] Whoops. Sorry. Lost the track of the conversation. Don't mind me.
