#1, This was the first time I'd ever seen it on the street that I can recall. I found it via Google Maps Street View and walked over there after class to photograph it.

Anyone have a clue what year this is? It appears to actually be a Series III, placing it between 1971 and 1985. I doubt either of the British plates ever came with this truck. If the California plates are original, it might be a 1975-77.

Apparently the Series III had practically no changes over its entire production span, and California blue plates ran between 1969 and 1987. So your best bet would be figuring out when the particular license number was issued....as you said, assuming the plates are original.
