An Escape? Really? Didn't realize those got bad enough gas mileage to qualify for the program.

Not surprised about the Jag... those things are thirsty, unreliable, and pretty much worthless if they're not in mint, low-mileage condition.

Shame about that Jag. I'm sure the running gear is about shot, but it would at least be a nice candidate for a V8 conversion.

Everyone keeps complaining about the C4C cars being crushed, but from what I can tell, they simply have their engines intentionally seized... the rest can go to a junkyard where some scavenger can still use the parts, or the whole rest of the car for that matter...

#4, some states do crush. Most states don't. Kansas crushes, MN does not. It depends on the dealer, too.

#5, Has KS actually been paid for their cars? Has MN still not been paid? I wonder if that makes a difference in whether cars are crushed.

#6, dealers can decide what to do with cars..
in MN some dealers have ties to UPullRParts.. so some cars go there. In Lawrence, most dealers havent.. so they are closing due to no new inventory and lots full of clunkers.

Dealers who trusted the government to pay them were foolish at best.

I hated this program, and I am liberal.

#10, Oh I know. 454 seems to be all uppity about everything though. He bitched at me for "whining" that someone got mad that I took a pic of their car. He said I apparently don't have the right to take a pic of something if it isn't mine.
