Description:
Fixer-upper of a house that my mother is planning on buying (and by extension, I'd be moving into). The house has been abandoned since December of 2008, when the man that lived here was killed on the property when a tree he was cutting down fell on him. His wife and daughter left the place afterward.

Looking both ways down the road. As you can see, it's quite isolated on all sides.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0476.jpg

Bovine skull nailed to a tree in the front yard.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0478.jpg

Opposite the skull. This was probably for a tire swing.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0479.jpg

Car port. The door leads into the den.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0489.jpg

South side of the house....old basketball hoop and clothes line.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0485.jpg

North side of the house. Old aquariums.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0480.jpg

Old playground.

Backyard, which is a bit messy.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0482.jpg

Old shopping cart presumably used in some prior cleanup of the yard.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0483.jpg

Old shed, with some sort of hutch behind it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0484.jpg

Another building in the back. I don't know what's in here.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0488.jpg

Fallen tree in the backyard. I don't know if it's the "killer tree" or not. There's a men's athletic shirt ("No Fear," I think) draped over the chair.

Coming into the living room, from the front door.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0490.jpg

Beat-up antique cabinet. He have one similar to it already, but in better shape.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0492.jpg

Bric-a-brac on a shelf.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0491.jpg

The kitchen, which is actually in terrible shape.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0493.jpg

At least we can clean the sinks.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0510.jpg

The den, leading off the living room.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0509.jpg

Closet with men's shirts hanging in it.

Other corner of the den, presumably where the daughter slept.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0495.jpg

Princess.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0496.jpg

The little girl's toy shelf, apparently.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0498.jpg

Hats hanging near the ceiling of the den.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0497.jpg

Hallway from the kitchen to the other side of the house.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0506.jpg

Picture in the hallway. Undoubtedly the man who died.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0499.jpg

Posters and printouts in one of the bedrooms.

Junk on the floor of the same bedroom.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0500.jpg

Budweiser sign hanging in the oddly-painted closet.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0503.jpg

Bathroom, which I didn't need to go into to tell that it will need complete renovation.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0505.jpg

Limited view of the final bedroom. I took several photos of this room, but this one is the only one that turned out, for some reason....the rest are way too blurry.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...14/100_0504.jpg

FIN.

#7, kinda? it looks like the type of place a killer would hide murder victims.

She's now signed the paperwork on this place. We've spent a couple of days pulling up the old carpet and parts of the subfloor, and we're also planning to knock out one wall and build another.

Spent all day today moving...most of our stuff is here now, though we haven't officially "moved in" yet. We're waiting on the bathroom renovation before we move completely, which should be completed by tomorrow or Saturday. Most of it's done. This house is starting to look quite nice, actually.

I'm spending probably my last night in the old house, where there's nothing in my bedroom but a bed, a heater, and a desk with my computer on it.

I had forgotten how much moving sucks. Especially when you're having to go back over all the renovation work your handyman has done because, contrary to his claims, he actually has no bloody idea what he's doing.

In any case, I have my internet and television back.
