China was smart enough to refuse a 4-door Porsche sedan, why wasn't the rest of the world?

I did a double take on the description when I read the word "Porsche", it has to be bad when even Chinese automakers find your car too chintzy

From the museum placard:
"In China, 88 is considered a lucky number - and so Porsche decides to name the car it presents at the Beijing Auto Show the 'C88'. Developed by Weissach engineers in just four months especially for the Chinese market, the model can be manufactured with simple production methods, while at the same time providing excellent quality and driving safety. In the end, however, the Chinese authorities do not grant Porsche or any other foreign manufacturer permission to produce in China."
It's powered by a 1.1L 4-cylinder making 47-67 hp and has a top speed between 86 and 102 mph.

The body shape kinda reminds me of an elongated Mazda 121 sedan...
