Yeah, I just love it when I'm stuck behind a slowpoke in the fast-lane, and the car behind me tailgates like mad, acting like it's *my* fault traffic is being held up...

I remember someone honking thier horn at me because I was stopped at a green light, because of someone trying to make a right turn with pedestrians in the crosswalk, then at the next light, he started honking as soon as it changed before I even started moving. I seriously wanted to get out of the car and cave in his dome.

#1, Oh I just love that, combined that with the flashing of the headlights and you've got yourself a grade A asshole. I had one person from New Jersey do that to me when I went to Illinois. So I matched the speed of the car next to me and kept the dick behind me for about 10 miles, then moved over only after he backed off.

This is why I need a big car, I actually slow down even more when I'm being tailgated. When I'm in a really bad mood I flash the brake lights at them.

#4, Same. Then when we reach a passing zone, I usually hang my arm out the window and impatiently wave them past. If they get pushy with me, I get pushy with them.

Archie's been rear ended at least 4 times by tailgaters just by jamming on my brakes. You should try it sometime. It makes them feel really dumb. Lol.

#6, I'd need a Lada or a Fiat 125 to do that trick. Metal bumpers FTW. 700/900 series Volvos technically also have tough metal bumpers mounted on two telescope-like tubes but the outer bumper will get busted.

#8, The tailgaters cause the accident. You're just facilitating the inevitable in a more controlled way. In a sense, you might be saving their lives.

Personally, if someone is tailgating me, and we're on a multi-lane, I move over and slow down to let them get the hell past... I hate people on my rear-bumper...

But yeah, if they're tailgating, and I'm already going 5-8mph over the limit, and I've got nowhere to move over... they can suck it. In that case I drop down to exactly the speed limit.

I generally speed up to get them off my ass, but i think i'm going to install rear facing foglights on my truck to aleviate that

#12, I want to install those for people that think high-beams are an "all the time" type of headlight setting...
