Mmm... leather. As far as I know, it's factory, but it could be Katzkin aftermarket or something. It's really comfy.

My mother has a 2007 Focus SE. Not a bad little vehicle, really.

#4, My parents are sick of the Buick, which has 110k on it and leaks from every conceivable place in the engine. I told him he should just fix the Buick and keep it, but he wanted to sell it and get something newer, smaller and more efficient. My folks were looking at a number of Focus, Vibe, Matrix, and other cars, and the Focus was the only one I remotely liked. In the last few days of my winter break from college we made a list of Foci to look at and trooped on down to San Diego. We must have looked at 8 Focus, a Vibe and 2 Mazda 3s, as well as a few Rangers and Colorados since my dad is also talking about selling his '71 GMC (a move I vehemently oppose). We ended up buying this silver '07 Focus with leather because it was the cleanest and most comfortable of all the cars we looked at. I did like the Mazda 3 but had a problem with the pedals being too close to the center stack for my wide feet. I have to share this car with my dad, but it'll get me to and from school three days a week.

#5, Ah, my parents didn't want me in anything small, and I said I wanted a V6, and they picked out my maxima for me. MY Criteria were midsize, Japanese, with a V6. MY dad is looking for himself a car though, something upscale(Lexus, Mercedes etc.) because a 61 y/o man driving a 1994 accord(with a manual) everyday isn't a good look, he NEEDS a new car and would have preferred him getting one over me

Our criteria were:
Small, preferably American, 30+ MPG, side airbags, ABS, 4 doors, a trunk, and in as good of condition as possible. I wanted something fun to drive that handles well, is comfortable on long trips and doesn't look like ass. This Focus does a pretty decent job of satisfying all those requirements. The biggest uncertainty is the fact we bought it with 76k miles. Mechanical parts can be replaced at a cost, but bodywork is very expensive as well. We wanted to start with a car that had been taken care of all its life. This one came from a rural area connected by highways, so it has a lot of highway miles and the only real damage is a small scratch on a door, a parking lot dent and some rock chips in the front bumper.

#7, Mine had 97k and some nasty scratches on the front and a dent in the bumper on the rear, I havent had any time to take it home and get it fixed yet. The engine is REALLY clean though, its the cleanest engine Iv'e ever seen. I love my car even though it wasnt what I was quite expecting, some work on it and itll be all good. I'm also looking at getting a hatchback 240 with a manual to work on, and I still have my vigor, which I may eventually bring back to life.

#8, We still have the Buick, and my 6K is still gathering dust awaiting repairs in the garage. I've refused to let my dad get rid of that one for any reason and am trying to convince him that his GMC is a classic and by far the most interesting vehicle we have. And then there's our Mustang, which is dead and will remain so for the foreseeable future unless someone drags it out and hauls it away or a miracle happens and we actually work on it. With two vehicles currently roadworthy out of six (GMC runs but has electrical gremlins right now, Buick leaks), the Rustang's not a high priority.

Early ownership issues...
The spoiler somehow got water inside it and had to be removed and drained. A water bottle flew forward from the console under hard braking and cracked the plastic surrounding the shifter. The engine runs well and we average 28-30 mpg, however my dad isn't happy with the Pirelli P6 Four Season tires, which are very soft and tend to cause the steering wheel to shake above 62mph (also pulls to the left). I suspect one tire is out of round. We have taken the car in to two different tire shops and they haven't been able to remedy it despite rotating, aligning and rebalancing the tires multiple times. These tires are nearly new and have maybe 3000 miles on them, so it's a shame to replace them so soon. I told my dad it's time to autocross the car to wear them down so we can replace them :P

#10, "the steering wheel to shake above 62mph (also pulls to the left)." sounds like a suspension issue to me.

According to my dad, the car went to the shop again and, well, one tire was installed facing the wrong way (asymmetrical tread pattern). He says it drives smoother now.

A few more recent shots. I put over 1000 miles on this car in the last week while showing D_o around California for the first time.

The adventures continue. Took my Focus up to Tahoe last week for camping, and up to Reno and Virginia City, Nevada.

Milestone! Unfortunately it's the one that tends to make Fords worthless.

Still looks good, though.
