Description:
Toyota 2JZ-GTE swapped into a BMW M5 E39. Supposedly makes 542 (wheel) horsepower.
The owner insists that this was cheaper and easier than forced induction on the S62. Somehow I'm doubtful. |

#1, It's funny because it's true.
I don't get the obsession that some enthusiasts have with the 2JZ. It's heavy as hell, is long and narrow enough to ensure that most of that weight will be in front of the rear wheels in any given car, and the powerband is generally peaky to the point of being killing any semblance of practical performance. Probably explains why Supra fans always race from a roll. |

#3, Agreed. I don't necessarily dislike the 2JZ, I just don't think they deserve nearly the worship they get. I'd sport a nice MkIV Supra, though I'd really rather have an Mk1 Supra with a 3.1 liter stroked 5M-GE. >:D |

#6, At least that one I understand....LS1s are light, compact, and cheap to maintain. That being said, though, the number of LS1 swaps out there are making them seem like a bit of a lazy solution. |
