This, and the Tercel 4WD wagon... Toyota sure sold some damn quirky/interesting vehicles in the American market, along with their sporty cars, like the Celica, Supra, and MR2... (and, I guess, AE86 Corolla, also)...

It's amazing how awesome a company can be when they're *attempting* to grow larger and get more market-share... and extremely depressing to see their lineup when they finally get there and *stop* trying...

#1, You know, the Camry wagon was available with a 5 spd, too. Come to think of it, does Toyota even make any stickshift vehicles besides trucks anymore? I think it's crazy how Toyota and Honda have lost their roots, but Mazda still attempts to stick to their roots of having some fun-to-drive vehicles. Don't even get me started on Nissan. They went from being a favorite of mine, to almost a least favorite. :/ Granted the Z car is still a sports car, and the GT-R has presence, too. But still. I still think the last Z-Car was the 1989 300ZX, and even I don't like that one all that much.

#2, The Primera/G20 is possibly the best-handling FWD vehicle I've ever driven... it's a real joy...

...sure, the Mirage was really REALLY tossable, but that was because it was a feather over a ton... but the G20 really *handles*... it's almost a midsize car, and it's full of luxury amenities, but weighs only 2800 lbs.

The fact that Mazda has recently pledged to make every successive generation of car in their lineup lighter than the car it replaces... I have to really respect that. You remove weight, you improve driving dynamics, performance, braking, and fuel economy. Add to that, something I've already praised numerous times, is the introduction of the Mazda5, hearkening back to what minivans "used" to be... rather than the damn-near Suburban-sized monstrosities they've become.

#3, Here, here. I've honestly liked the MPV for what it originally was, too. Same reason I do like the Colt Vista and its twins from a practicality standpoint. Not overly huge, not extremely tiny.

Oh, and I saw a new Sienna today. It's fucking HUGE.

#2, The current Z is an ergonomic nightmare and it makes my eyes bleed.

#4, The new Sienna is also styled almost exactly like the Venza... so... what's the point of the Venza now?

#8, That looks good. I'm talking about.. similar taillights, similar beltline-to-window, similar front end shape..

Am I the only one who thinks the Aerostar is, was and will always be a silly, ungainly, and top-heavy-looking vehicle?

I actually like the 2009 Edge Sport. All the others are meh.

#10, I think the Aerostar is an aesthetic beauty, the way all of its shapes in design come together to make a really neat-looking vehicle... but I am a bit... off...

#3, Yeah, it was made back in the day when cars were actually made to handle, and were promoted by motorsport. Nowadays it's all about catering to the lowest common denominator idiot, skil-less, pathetic drivers out there :(
