typical cop spokesperson: our officer did nothing wrong, its your fault
(I got hit by a cop while biking, I was going straight through an intersection, in the bike lane, he turned, broadsided me- DIDNT SIGNAL! [I WAS WATCHING!!!!!] didnt knock me over cause I'm a good rider and steadied it out, then he zooomed to catch up to me and yelled at me)
I called the station the next day and left a complaint, after reviewing it with his officers, I was told that he did signal, and I didnt have the right of way. BULLLLLLLSHIT!$^%$# |

You can actually sue them for hitting you, if your on your bike its just like an automobile accident, and the cop is clearly at fault, all you need is a decent lawyer and it would pay for itself plus a nice profit for you. My boss rides his bike to work everyday and races it too. (its a really nice bike, all the parts he has added to it equate to about $4k) and he gets hit about 6 times a year. Aside from his pawnshop, thats how he makes his living. |

eh, that'd take forever, I'd have to round up witnesses, I wasnt hurt, no damage was done. That was while I was MTB racing, and the bike's parts would retail for a bit over $3,000- largely due to the full carbon fiber frame. It wouldnt be worth the trouble, and I'm 17 and not allowed to sue. My parents would have to, but since I'm not hurt, and the bike was fine, they wouldnt bother. I think I was 15 at the time

Ah, me boss is around 50, bruises easy, and understands that a slight ding in a ciottecilli carbon fiber frame and a scrape on his alloy 12 spoke wheels knocks the value to about a third, but yeah, wish you could have reaped what that cop had sown. |

This cop was "rescued by a nice man from AA". Gee, I didn't think Alcohalics Anonymous was THAT effective...they're turning patients into regular good samaritans. |
