Description:
I would just like to express my enjoyment of the new "cheaper" Johnny Lightning diecasts... no pointless "trading cards", no pointless themes (Monopoly, Coca-Cola, etc, that'll languish on store shelves for years), just honest to goodness decent 1/64 diecasts with nice detailing and normal paintjobs, and asking only twice the price of a regular Hot Wheels diecast, instead of $3-$5...

There's a '60s Plymouth Fury red taxicab that I considered getting from this line once... kinda regret that I didn't get it, now.

#4, Aye.

...I should also mention, the Mustang... it's a '65, but it's painted dark green, has no painted trim on the side, and has chrome-rimmed black wheels... it's obvious they were going for a Bullitt-look, even though it's the wrong model year... but it still looks damn nice.

#1, I almost got that one myself. The new JLs are hard to come by in my area. :(

So, I bought the '66 Dodge Charger stock car that was in this line of diecasts, also... I thought it was just a "fake" generic stock car... but then I find this: http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/...edayt1966ni.jpg

[edit] The JL diecast I'm talking about: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...em=250608713406

#8, I read that post in the most recent comments, where it says:

"So, I bought the '66 Dodge Charger stock car that...."

.....and for a split second I thought this was being posted on your "I'm looking for another car" thread. I was about to say, damn, you mean for a commuter?

And I thought this, KNOWING you collect NASCAR die casts. My head obviously isn't screwed on right.

#9, Oh, no, I really did buy a Dodge Charger stock car for a daily commuter...

...then I woke up.

#1, Alright, found another Plymouth Fury JL car in this line, and better yet, it was a police car, which I like more... snagged it.

#12, Where do you buy JLs now? Nobody seems to stock them in my area anymore. I get mine primarily from a guy at the local Goodguys swap meet, and his are mostly the older, higher-priced ones.

I'd love to find the '81 Malibu, '87 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe, maybe the new blue Typhoon and '31 Cadillac.

#14, Weird. I guess I don't hit Walmart often enough. I used to buy mine at Target but they stopped selling JL in favor of new brands like Greenlight and M2.

The last time I was at Walmart, I didn't even see any.

Seems like certain Walmarts have better stuff. Some of the best diecast scores I've had were at the Walmart in Idaho Falls, Kahului (Maui) and the one in Cold Lake, Alberta. I also had a good haul at a Walmart somewhere in central California off I-5 when I was with RRB in summer 2007.

"'81 Malibu, '87 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe, maybe the new blue Typhoon and '31 Cadillac."

When I picked up the Fury police car, ALL of those were available... except the Typhoon was green.

#10, Do the work commute only have left turns? *runs*
But seriously: aren't stock cars set-up in such a matter as to constantly pull the the left?
