This car was originally black, but the Blackhawk Museum, among others, has an annoying habit of painting cars red during restorations, probably for the sake of catching the eye and making big money at auction (case in point, the infamous Hartmann-bodied 1937 Cadillac V-16 roadster on display at Blackhawk - read its ridiculously convoluted history here: http://www.car-nection.com/yann/dbas_txt/16hrtm.htm )

It's a bit....messy. Honestly, the car is just all wrong in details and proportions.

#1, It isn't called "resale red" for nothing... unfortunately, so many classic cars are done-up in red, it loses its allure and has almost become the "beige" of the collector car hobby...

Terrible picture but it's nice that the cars get out of the museum from time to time.
