I'm wincing at the louvers punched in the hood.

EDIT: Although that welded seam at the front makes me think it's not a real Superbird hood....maybe a regular B-body Plymouth hood that's been artificially extended to fit.

This car was purchased new in 1970 when the owner traded in his Charger while on his honeymoon. He drove the car until 1981, when it was parked in the garage awaiting engine and transmission work. He planned to race the car, so in went a roll bar and the hood louvers for engine cooling. Unfortunately the owner died in 2007, before it could be finished. His widow (already divorced before his death) kept the car until 2009 when she was about to lose her deceased husband's house due to foreclosure, at which point she sold the Superbird. The current owner (effectively only the second owner) has spent 10 months getting the car in running condition and starting restoration on it. It has only 50k miles and is equipped with the 440 Six Pak.

Weirdly enough, the last time I saw this car was in the valet stand in front of the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose during a furry convention last year. o_O
