I still say these are the two most beautiful factory Mustangs ever built.

- 1967 Shelby GT500
- 1969 Boss 429

...agree? disagree? You feel two *other* Mustangs are better looking or most lust-worthy?

...care to share your opinion on the best-looking two vehicles from another long car line, like the Camaro, Corvette, Corolla?

The '69 Boss 429 is my absolute favorite Mustang. No other Mustang looks as intense.

#3, It was the *subtlety* of the Boss 429 that actually made it stand out and look downright evil... most other muscle cars were going for the "flash" look... the Boss 429 just had the "I'm here. You know who I am. Don't tempt me." look about it.

1969 is my favorite Mustang year, though personally I go for the Boss 302, since it has the smoother quarters without those simulated scoops in the side, which I think clutter up the styling somewhat. The scoop was dropped for all the Mustangs for 1970, but the front was less attractive that year, IMO.

I also prefer the '68 GT500 over the '67. Don't know why, I just do.

My two favorite Camaros:

1967 RS/SS: http://richardlewis.org/pictures/th...aroRS-SS-r1.jpg - My favorite first gen, since I prefer the 1967-1968 cars over the 1969s. I slightly prefer the '67s, since the '68s look somewhat "incomplete" without vent windows, and the side marker lights were just added clutter. The combination of the Rally Sport and Super Sport package made the best-looking car, a car with just enough of an air of sophistication that the "white trash" association with the Camaro name seems miles off the mark.

1971 Z/28: http://www.southerncarparts.com/gal...Z28-Blue-po.jpg - My favorite second gen, it combines the more elegant "small mesh" 1970-1971 grille with the sportier high back seats that the 1970 models lacked. The Z/28 had the right striping, the right badging, and the hot LT1 V8 (slightly detuned from 1970 but still with most of the power later lost in subsequent years).

Just based on looks I would pick the GT350H over the GT500. Don't know why but I just don't care for the th GT500s.

'69 was the best looking mustang all around, no question.

#8, Quite obviously you're wrong. The best looking Mustang was the early 70's fastback Mach 1s.

The 69 is a close second but it's a little too polished for a pony car. They should all have a mean-ish look to them.

The early 70's cars you are speak of aren't what I would consider mean looking.

The '70 Mustang looked like it got humped by a Camaro.

...yes, I know they had the same designer... which is probably why.

Lately I've become obsessed with unusual "special edition" models of '60s Mustangs. One promotion for the west coast in 1968 and 1969 was the "Rainbow of Colors," a series of really bright colors released as Spring Specials.

This 1968 GT Fastback is painted one such color, Sierra blue. I think this is one of the best-looking Mustangs I've ever seen: http://mustangattitude.com/cgi-bin/...8/1968_00138_01
