Description:
The new Frog is here: 2001 Peugeot 206 HDi. 2000cc, 90hp, AC, power windows, green fur upholstery and oversteer. Mechanically healthy, paintwork is a bit beaten up here and there. Expected MPG: 45-ish.

And yes, I've rallied the fucker already.

Been to my first track day today. Woohoo! I am finally convinced this was a good buy, it's holding up to abuse very nicely indeed. It did run pretty hot, 110 degrees Celsius, maybe even a bit more but it got through several 20-minute sessions without reching the temp redline (120) and the brakes felt firm and responsive all day long. I did feel a bit of an odd shift of brake force to the rear late in one session but nothing that would make things dangerous.

Google Translate does a surprisingly good job with this article. Save for translating Poznan as 'San Francisco' (wtf?) and tor (circuit) as 'Torah' :D

#26, Exactly. I smell foul play. BTW near Poznan there is a town of Suchy Las ('dry forest') which is widely known as Suchy Las Vegas in the Wielkopolska :P

Track day MPG: 25-ish. That's flat out track driving. I don't lift for fucking nobody (because it then oversteers).

2nd track day done, another 300km of track driven. The car feels really solid but it looks like it destroyed another left front tire (clockwise track). I'll have it checked tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I'll need a new one (well, 2 new ones), again. Could be faulty tires (cheap used ones) but twice in a row... and it does eat front rubber like crazy. If this is not a toe but camber problem (this version runs a bit of positive camber up front stock) I'll go through a lot of tires until I buy a second car :(

#29, Third track day done. Bought used 15 inch OZ Racing wheels, slapped some T1Rs on the back (leftovers from my dad's minivan... who was the previous owner, anyway?) and SP Sports pulled from the junkyard on the front. 205 wide, they actually protrude a little from the fenders and are totally shit on the road (especially on ruts/lenghtwise creases in the surface) but they survived the track and I've cut a whopping 3 seconds off my best lap.

#32, Yeh, I'm flogging this thing pretty hard. The only things I avoid are events with bumpy or gravel surfaces. I will lift/brake before potholes, especially the ones in braking zones and I'm careful around curbs/posts/fences. Also, I'd rather not go sideways in the stock seat and harness, I'm afraid of totally loosing it due to overcountersteer.
So far it's amazing how well it's holding up for a 10 year old French econobox: not a single thing broke.

SuperOES Wigilijny (Christmas Superspecial) 2 day event done: friday night and saturday morning stages. I've shelled out a lot of cash for brand new Michelin Alpin snow tires and not only do they work extremely well on wet and dirty tarmac but seem to hold up pretty well when being pounded on such an abrasive surface. I'm very happy with the final result as well, less so about the lack of snow >:(

Aaaaand again, no snow. Fuck that, my poor, poor brand new Michelin Alpines :(
Anyway, here's the first ever incar video performance of the French Diesel Green (do NOT use fullscreen, it was an ubercheap Chinese 'service cam' thingy):

OK, so we finally did get some snow. Me: ambitious, but rubbish. I almost had a 3rd place in class till 3rd run... also dropped from 44th to 72nd overall. And I had no alcohol at home when I went back. Luckilly, I was also out of rope.
Anyway, have a look at my channel for the new vids:

I've got the job. On Monday I am leaving for basic training/orientation: first I'll drive to Warsaw, on Wednesday I'll flying together with 2 big fishes to Belgium. We'll fly back on Sunday and I am to wait a few days to have a company car arranged. Then I'm heading off to Belgium again, this time for 3 months, after that... we will see. I pray this is not some kind of bullshit job...
