I've seen a number of convertibles with plastic rear windows that failed from being parked outside too long. Particularly first-gen Miatas and such. Maybe it failed from being folded too many times with the top going up and down.

#3, Also possible. It does look like an older top, with some yellowing on that clear plastic.
