Hmmm, localized retrograde time dilation, it's still 1978, but only in this 50 yard stretch of street.....

Odd. I like the little collection of 1970s cars though.

#1, C'mon, I know the first-gen Focus is an old design but it's not that old. :P

#3, yeah but it fits :P (being a "classic" design anyway.)

To be fair, yes, the 1st-gen Focus will probably go down as a "classic" design for its era. It was revolutionary, had an overall cohesive aesthetic design, and sold by the bucketful globally.

#5, Fun little car, too. It's truly something special when the base versions are fun to drive as well as the enthusiast version. As someone who's had seat time in a first gen Focus, a first-gen refresh, a crappy second gen, and the current generation, I can say that each one did actually have redeeming qualities.

#6, Well, basically, Ford needed to pull a rabbit out of their ass to defeat the longtime Euro-sales-king, the Golf (no pun intended)...

...and they accomplished that feat in spades.

#7, And so far, no diesel scandals either. And its still reliable long after the warranty expires. Corrosion resistance, however, is on par with the VW, which is to say, not that good.

#8, I don't understand why the European car industry, on average, has such a lousy track record for corrosion protection...

It is odd... if a household has multiple vintage cars from the same era, they're generally brand-loyal. This mixing is a nice sampling of all of the Big 3.

#11, Now, if there were just a Hornet Sportabout in there somewhere....
