Yeah, but I think it was a replica. Actually, I'd bet on it cosidering there weren't many originals built. |

Of course it was a replica. Who the hell has the budget -- let alone the balls -- to crash a real Gulf GT40? |

Even if it just was a replica, it still looked kick ass, I hate FOX, bastards wreck nice cars just for ratings. Same with that new movie xXx, they drive a vette off a cliff, it was a waste too. |

Never underestimate the truly stupid people of the world. But like I said, I'd bet it was a kit just due to availabilty. |

NBC should put a new show in the competing time slot against Fast Lane and call it Shitty Rice Cars Blow Up For No Apparent Reason.
I guarantee it would get huge ratings. |

I would be very happy to drive that replica rather than see it destroyed, I wish they had a extra one so I can have it |

If you want to know for sure, tape it and watch the crashes in slow-mo. I did that on the Cobra wreck in Bad Boys. That thing split down the middle and folded. Sweet wreck, ballsy stuntman. |

oh yeah, even if it was just a replica, you could still get 80+ grand off of it |

I hope it was just a fiberglass shell on some shitty chassis, like a Taurus or something. |

#9 Actually, Jurrell, they don't even cost that much, usually, so trying to get anywhere near that much for one wouldn't work. |

Couldn't have been a replica. Real ones go for that much. Maybe it was a new one. Shelby still makes 'em. They're real deal, just not '60s originals. |

A Factory Five kit is only $11k... even adding in the donor car and the labor it's still nowhere near $85k. |

The only way it could be a kit and sell for that much is if an idiot bought it from a guy who was tryin' to pass it off as an original. |

Some of the high-end, super-accurate, damn-near-authentic replicas go for $40k-$50k if they're already built, but even then the resale value sucks royally. |

Lee Holman (son of one of the Holman & Moody guys) builds exact GT40 Mk. II replicas according to the old blueprints and such (which he got from his father). I would love to have one of those. |
