Were these really so bad? I know a guy who swears by 280ZX but hates the 300ZX.

Nah, they weren't bad, unless you count the constant bloat that the Z-series cars had been going through since the 240 left production. These were big, cumbersome, and a bit heavy, but there wasn't anything specifically wrong with them otherwise.

#3, That was my thinking too but the more I know about cars, the better I realize I'm no expert so I haven't argued.
