Description:
Citroen BX 19 GTI.
It's a slipstreamed French UFO with hydropneumatic suspension and the engine from Peugeot 205 GTI. You can still buy a GTI in great shape cheaply and the prices are likely to start going up soon.
I would totally drive the fuck out of this thing.

You can also find GTIs with auto transmissions or rally bred AWD. I actually plan to buy one of these as a daily driver. Or I might go with the turbo diesel auto AWD Break (wagon) version: uber weird, uber cool, uber comfy and has a huge trunk as well.

These were always way too French for me.

#3, As a former French car owner, I'd say it's one very mixed bag. A car being French doesn't mean it's good or bad....just French.

Well, I could never honestly recommend a French car to anyone... I'd drive it instead ;)
They have their quirks and problems but somehow I've grown to like them for just that. The 5 was a horrible POS but it outright died on me only once or twice in 5 years of abusing it. I'd be crazy to say it was a good car but it made me happy and I can't put a price on that.

#5, Kinda reminds me when the Top Gear guys were talking about Alfa Romeos... they, personally, love them and would buy them, but would NEVER recommend one to a friend.
