This was in one of those "worst cars EVER" books I have... of course, just about every Triumph car was in the book, so maybe the author was a tad biased? |

The 70's were really frustrating for me, when it comes to cars, so many GREAT looking designs came out of the era that ultimately flopped, failed by weak engines, slipshod construction and soft economy.... I think a lot of cars that are called failures today would still have fan followings if only engine technology had been about 8- 10 years ahead.... The "performance" engines were all emissions-choked and the "economy" ones sacrificed fuel mileage for longevity, this was the era of the aluminum head and iron block, which is the death sentence for head gaskets even if you don't abuse them..... |
