Judging by the tag, I'm guessing this is one of the ones originally shipped to the U.S. Navy. They bought a whole fleet of Power Wagon pickups and Town Wagons right around when this one was made, all painted white and equipped like the truck you see here. |

Chrysler was the go-to supplier of most non-combat fleet vehicles across the armed forces from the late 50's thru to the late 70's, just about all the 1/2 ton 3/4 ton vehicles and some of the larger service trucks (dump trucks, box trucks, base security vehicles, etc) were either Dodge D series' or Jeeps. It wasn't until the CUCV (milspec version of the Chevy c/k) came along in the 80's that the streak was broken |
