I have no idea why, but I was expecting it to be a black 2-door, with black-painted steelies. |

#3, It had to be a 4 door, coupe was not FIA homologated (save for M3, obviously) and I will turn it into a competition car. These are the junkyard wheels, the stock wheels are BBS with BMW center caps: difficult to say if the wheels and the sports steering wheel was specced with the new car or dealer installed a little later: looks like the Italian BMW dealerships were (are?) not connected to the BMW info network. |

I'm leaving for Belgium tomorrow, hopefully I will be back on the Internet within a month.
The car so far seems OK: it's 100% original (even still has the original 2000km break-in sticker on the front windshield), no idiot has made any DIY "mods" to it. The body feels rigid and has very little surface rust, the M50B20 DOHC 24v inline-6 (no VANOS) feels strong and healthy. The car does have some cooling issues (10 laps and it's too hot) and electrical gremlins. The brakes and suspension will be changed so they are not an issue.
The thing that worries me is that when it started to rain, I spun out 3 times like a little bitch when exiting a corner (once at about 130kph... whoops): the back end was settled nicely and suddenly BAM. I hope it was the tires and lack of oil in the rear shocks, not me :( |
