With all of the hype (and for some, controversy) surrounding Fisker, I think many people don't realize (or have forgotten) that they made cars prior to the Karma :P

...well... did they actually *make* cars like this, or were these simply modifications on already-built vehicles? I know this one is based on a BMW 6-Series...

#1, Fisker bought BMW 6-Series and Mercedes SL cars in bulk and had them customized.

#2, I'm not sure that "in bulk" is the correct term given that only two Latigos were ever built. I believe this one is #001, the only customer car, powered by a BMW V10. It has different rear end styling from the #000 prototype car.

#2, Oh. I assumed there were a ton to be built, considering this is when they were new?

#4, They were going to build 150 of each, but there was too little demand so only two Latigos and 15 Tramontos were built. This car was delivered in 2007.

Fisker is an excellent stylist, but got in way over his head when he tried his hand at coordinating the engineering of a car.
