Description: It's a damn shame... the Dodge St. Regis made for a really nice-looking police car... but it didn't have the power to match.

It's a shame so few St. Regises have survived. Most of the ones that are still around are ex-police cars.

I downloaded one (actually a 1979 Chrysler Newport police car) for Need For Speed: Most Wanted some years ago on my PC and replaced the regular police cruisers with it. A custom mod loader program allowed you to select the police cars as a player vehicle so I often chose the Newport, mainly because police vehicles had the ability to take damage and lose parts unlike the regular playable cars. http://www.nfscars.net/storage/game...c2d893c7e8b.jpg http://www.nfscars.net/storage/game...4933f97e7c0.jpg The guy who made it also did a civvie '80 Newport and a civvie '79 St. Regis. #2, Oh yeah... I forgot that the earliest St. Regises didn't have the flip-up headlight covers... definitely prefer the facelifted ones.

Hmmm... imagine if someone took a St. Regis and retrofit the suspension/drivetrain from a Pentastar V6 Charger/Challenger? (Hey, 300+hp is good enough :P)

#4, They're not as durable or torquey as the old LA series small blocks, though. If you wanted a more modern fuel-injected driveline, a 5.2/5.9 Magnum would bolt right in.
