Description: Going to Grandma's beach house: good. Going to Grandma's beach house to help clean up after the kitchen plumbing broke and flooded most of the house while no one was there: not so good.

Like It Never Even Happened™. Sucks though. Our renovation on our current house hit a snag when we found out that the kitchen sink had been draining just under the living floor, which we in turn had to replace half of. I know firsthand the shit water can do to a house, especially over the course of a few years.

I don't know why, but the local ServPro affiliate utilizes a LOT of Nissan Cubes for their fleet.

#3, "Only" half an inch of water in about 75% of the house, but it was enough to soak into the drywall, drain through the floor into the basement, leak out through the siding and cause some mold while ruining some of the furniture. Ruined the carpet and finished off the tile floor in the kitchen. ServPro estimated about $10k or more for cleanup plus whatever it costs to repair the walls and replace the tile, and the wood furniture and kitchen cabinets will have to be cleaned up and re-stained, and the baseboards replaced. Luckily the house is insured.
