#1, Well, it's not an Aussie Falcon....rather a Tornio-based American Falcon....mid-year 1970 introduction.

#3, Reading up on it, it appears that the 1970½ Falcon, particularly the 2-door, is quite rare.

Pretty rare, with a low survival rate. Apparently 26,071 2-doors, 30,443 4-doors, and 10,539 wagons were built. I actually know of a rusty yellow 4-door locally. Big blocks are *very* rare; 68 429 CJs and 38 SCJs.

A lot of them were ordered with crazy option combinations, since pretty much every option was available ala carte, so you see weird combinations like 429 SCJ engines with drum brakes all around, or an electric bench seat on a six cylinder 4-door with radio delete. Interesting, the 429 engines were theoretically available in any of the three body styles, though all the 429s known are in two doors. Muscle Car Review said a few years back that Ford documentation showed ONE mid-sized 429 SCJ wagon was ordered for 1970, though it was a Torino.

#5, There was an incredible amount of freedom in ordering options back then.

Mazda is finally offering the wonderful SkyActiv turbo-4 in their compact vehicles, the only way to get that powertrain is with the leather interior (major no-no in a hot, humid environment) and larger wheels (worse ride-quality and far more expensive tires, and the wheels themselves if they get damaged).

Why can't I get a base-model with the powerful engine? :(

#6, Hell, I'm getting tired of base model cars only being offered in black, white, and grey. Whatever my next car is, I absolutely do not want it in one of those colors.
