Description:
We haven't had a truck 16 in the fleet for a couple years, not since the 95' F-350 I trained on went "down the road", leaving 16's old parking spot devoid of a truck.
Just as soon as we finish scrubbing all the old California DOT decals off of this one and replace that pansy-ass bumper with the company standard killer brush guard, that'll change. |

#1, I dunno, I didn't look, it's got PLATES on both ends, but that's all I recall.

I still don't see why they paid to have this shipped in by flatbed. For the cost of a train ticket, they could've sent me to California for less than it cost, and I'm pretty sure I could've earned that back on the way.... you can't tell me I wouldn't pass at lest ONE broke down car.

Two more "new" trucks arrived recently.
We used to have a "medium duty" wrecker, a GMC TopKick, it was big enough to do RV's and Box Trucks... but it was a major money pit, it never got enough use to justify the fuel, training, specialized hardware and PM costs. It also tended to sit unused for so long that when it was needed, it frequently broke down. They sold it down the road and replaced it with a Ford F-550 that can't do RV's, but can do heavy trucks, but will also have towing equipment compatible with doing cars so it can be a light-duty wrecker when not needed for big stuff, much more economical. The 2nd truck coming is a Dodge, we've never had one of them in the fleet before, and it has a different style bed mounted, the "Eagle Claw" lifts like these are slowly going obsolete for quicker "Power Claw" beds that hook up with hydraulic flip-feet and not spring tension and good aim.
