It does at least fit the term he usually uses for vehicles that should be rallied.

Wonder if they won this on The Price is Right... I remember, for a solid year, they kept offering a Compass that looked exactly like this as a prize...

#2, Host: "You win a BRAND -- NEW -- CAR!"
Contestant: "Uh, can I opt for the cash equivalent?"
Host: *Flicks a quarter in the general direction of contestant*

#2, I figure it's a representative prize. You don't win the very car as seen on stage - you get one of the Compasses from out back - from the big vending machine they come in. Same deal with a Mickey D's ad for a Big Mac versus the actual product that looks dejected and depressed - the emo hamburger.

#4, Well, yeah, I imagine if someone "wins" the car, they instead receive a voucher to take to a dealership or something...

Around this same time they also kept offering a white base-model Subaru Forester...

#5, If it's the voucher thingy - then that would explain the whole "California admission" thing. For years I thought "California Admission" was a feature that could be ordered from a dealership.

Unless I misheard it from the get go and it was always "California emission".

#6, I always thought it was "California emissions"... meaning the extra amount paid for an exhaust/catalytic converter/etc specifically designed to meet more stringent requirements in the People's Republic of Kalifornia.

Well, I could take bets on how long would that 'body kit' last in a rally situation. Even on tarmac I suspect this thing is so soft it would lose the plastic barfness pretty quick.
BTW: I just came back from WRC Germany. Dhrontal stage, just over my head Mikkelsen lost it, cut off suports from a couple of rows of wines with his back bumper, hit the wall as he spun but continued. Latvala had less luck: he went off deeper and I could see him sliding down a 45-ish degree slope (well, I could see the wines toppling, the car was underneath) and coming to a stop in the middle of a fan area, perched on a wall, about 2m over the road underneath. He kept the throttle pinned the whole way down, crazy bastard.

#8, http://youtu.be/C1-EttsHRkw
I was about 10-15 meters down the slope from the spot where he lost it, I saw the tip of the wing and derbis flying. All in all he slid down a good 30 meters. After that I decided to move closer to and higher over the area from which the video was made, two cars trying to land on your head is enough for one day (plus, I could not see much).
