In all honesty, I don't think Dominoes even advertizes or honors the 30 minute thing anymore. The fact it's still remembered is testament to how effective advertizing can be.
IIRC, one of the reasons they quietly let it go obsolete was because people were suing them when accidents like this happen, claiming their driver was at fault/speeding, and the motto was being used as "evidence" against them that they were encouraging reckless driving. Essentially, a blank-check invitation to get reamed by over-litigious people.

#6, One of my innermost fantasies is to take likes-to-sue guy, who feels he deserves millions for stabbing himself with a toothpick that had no warning label on it, and transport him back in time to the Middle Ages.

#5, That 30 minute thing - as employed by countless other pizza delivery services - always seem like a promise too big to keep. Long before we had the Goog doing all the route calculation for us - how could the restaurant owner possibly know that the maximum radius of their delivery range (and by extension - the radial area) can be covered in under 30 minutes? Surely they were aware that variables like traffic density and road works inevitability alter and skew their maximum radius delivery range to shrink in size where a 30 minute time limit becomes almost impossible to calculate accurately - much less guarantee.
Therefore - whoever lives at or near the circumference of the delivery range and calls for pizza delivery would have to realize that there exists a very real likelihood that the restaurant owner could simply say "Balls to you and your order. There's a Catholic wedding going on down the street - and we're not going to take a chance on you because we might not reach you in time".

Speaking of lawsuits and pizza, I remember a few years back when one of the chains sued Papa John's over their "better ingredients, better pizza" slogan.
The PJ's suddenly switched to plain brown boxes, overnight, in order to limit the damage during litigation.
When a company, any company, decides it's best chance of turning a profit is to get the courts to ORDER other companies to stop producing superior product, it doesn't bode well for the plaintiff.
