I *do* like these, but I have to admit that they're from the "Well, our engines have no power and our engineering budget for redesigns is nil... let's throw some tacky crap on it!" era...

It was an interesting time for Chrysler's trucks and vans, though I've always found some of their other "Adult Toys" more interesting, like the Warlock and the True Spirit.

#4, If you haven't already, snag yourself one of the Hot Wheels Simon & Simon diecasts... I never watched the show myself, but the diecast is awesome.

#8, here, we don't have Wal-Mart, and the Target has a PISSPOOR selection. The K-Mart here doesn't stock diecast anymore due to a shooting on K-Day.

#9, The only K-Mart left in the county is in a VERY bad area... I only went there once out of curiosity years ago... it... it looked like they never bother cleaning up/tidying up the aisles and shelves... it was extremely depressing.

Used to be a K-Mart just down the street, but it closed down when K-Mart corporate had the beginning of its big troubles. It was replaced by a condo/housing-development right at the peak of the housing bubble. They were being offered for $375k+, RIGHT before the market collapse. Now the whole development is relatively finished, but empty. They're trying to unload them for $150k apiece now.

It pisses me off, because rumors are that the housing developer outbid Target for the location... that would have been fantastic. The closest Target is 25 minutes away.

#10, The only K-Mart here is in an somewhat iffy area, maybe 10 minutes biking from me. Whole store is run-down, and the parking lot doubles as an area for people to stash used cars they're trying to unload on unsuspecting lower-income people. It's like Minneapolis' version of 8-Mile road in terms of ghetto-ness.

The Kmart in my town closed during the first round of restructuring when they introduced the "BigK" branding... it was always in a bad area, all by itself on the edge of town at the end of a freeway ramp. The developers had assumed town would grow in that direction and suburbs would spring up around it to form a customer base, instead, it grew in the OTHER 3 cardinal directions first, and didn't really develop until 2005, by which time, they were long gone and the plaza, which also had a grocer, had both closed. They really should have done their homework, the township line ends RIGHT at the far end of their lot, and people in a ritzy college town will NOT build where their home address has a redneck/podunk RD# attached.... unless they have no other option.
