Eww. It looks like a poorly rendered traffic car from a first-generation polygon racing game.

If you hold the burnout button and spin donuts, does a "hubcap" fly off?

It's a classic.

I would deliberately go down alleyways even if the main road was clear, and hit every pile of cardboard boxes and roadside pile of gravel "ramp" I could find, just to watch the cop cars behind me pile up like mechanical lemmings.

#7, I would too. I also liked driving on the "beach" in Miami and in SF I loved going up hills into oncoming traffic to see if I could clear cars. :)

I'm just pissed that it's not available on Android... is it really that difficult to port something from iOS?

#6, Should have known. I liked DriverSF - but not as much as Driv3r.

Given how fragmented my involvement in the Driver francise is - I doubt I'll ever get around to finding the orginal game - or find the PP disc I bought.

#10, I grew up on Driver. It was one of my first driving games and I loved the huge cities and skiddy car chases. The idiotic cop AI was frustrating though. Game worked without a CD if you could live without cutscenes.
Driv3r was better than people gave it credit for - it was good enough that I spent the night of my junior prom playing it instead of going to the dance. It's aged badly in some ways and the controls and on-foot action are clunky, but I've played worse.
Parallel Lines was almost a step backward. Random new character and very rigid cameras with stupid ped physics. Two distinct eras was cool. Modern cops were bastards with their trigger-happy shotgun-toting passengers.
Driver SF was great fun. It just annoys me that the car mirrors/reflections don't work right. Apparently this has continued on Ubisoft's more recent games like The Crew. The lack of ability to choose your car color in the garage and the limited selection of traffic cars at the end of the story are bothersome.
