It always amazes me to see these restored rigs. I always wonder how much garage space and how many heavy lifts the owner has.

#1, It always amazes me to see how much big rig design hadn't really changed for a half century... only in the past 20 years have we been seeing more modern and streamlined trucks become more popular...

Truck mechanicals too havent changed in decades either. Air brake systems havent had a major revision since they started using spring operated parking brakes in the 70s.

#3, You would know this better than me... the overall appearance of this truck's frame and wheels/tires still look like what they use today, to some extent... would that be a correct assessment?

#4, Yeah it would be all very much the same save for new emmissions control bull and more complex and moder electricals and engine management.

Although the wheels on this woildnt be the original set as most trucks wmbles posted would have had wedge clamp 5 spoke steel style wheels on front and back. And tube tires with multi piece wheel... may even have been "widow maker" wheels.

#5, Could someone essentially take a vintage semi, but upgrade the drivetrain/wheels/brakes/etc (leaving the body and frame alone), and use it as an everyday hauler?

#7, Like a restomodded '67 Mustang, done up with GT500 bodywork (but no Shelby/Cobra logos so I'm not a faker), blue w/white stripes, center grille fogs (replicating the Gunsmith Cats look) with the drivetrain from the new turbo-4 EcoBoost Mustang :P

(No, seriously, that is what I would want to do if I had the money)

#9, For the same reason I drive a 100hp car and a sub-1000cc cruiser... I have self-control issues. Access to *too* much power, and I'll kill myself :P
