Description:
Ford Probe. I was going to mock the "historic" plates, until it hit me. The last time I saw one in comparable condition was back in college, which WAS almost 15 years ago.... cripes I'm gettin' old. |

I still see second gen Probes from time to time, but I haven't seen a first gen in about as long. |

A guy at work about 5 years back had a 1st gen Probe, reasonably good shape, some minor cosmetic body damage to the one quarter, but, all there. Eventually had to junk it when it started wearing out things that they no longer made/stocked the parts for. I think a bad tranny was it's eventual death knell. |

There are two or three that I see per month, and the only one I've seen recently, I posted not too long ago. There's a blue GT Turbo, and tan GL base model, with hideous walmart hubcaps and otherwise in perfect shape. |

I haven't seen one in a LONG time. But the last time I've seen them, they were eye-sore rusty. Quick research shows they got pretty impressive awards and I always thought they looked cool. The back makes for a great place for a person not to sit in.

The 1st gen was pretty much what happens when the Maya II concept's styling is slapped on a car with the opposite drivetrain configuration, then defanged by bean-counters. |
