These '00s GM SUVs... they weren't exactly competitive in their segments, but I do have respect for the higher-performance ones like these.

#2, "[Vehicle] of the year" from Motor Trend or Automobile don't seem to care about quality, just how much news a new vehicle made... the press awarding a vehicle for being the most covered by the press. It's just a giant circle-jerk.

#3, nah its the "most significant vehicle introduced that year", regardless of press.

Reason why there's the Automobile All-Stars, which don't necessarily mean a vehicle is new for that year.

#1, For vehicles that you say weren't competitive, they sure sold a lot of them. My area is swarming with these.

My mom still gets offers from time to time from local dealers who want her to trade her Vue in, but she likes it too much.
