I'm having memories all over again of telling the Saturn representative at the 2008 auto show that the Saturn Astra was not an "all new" car but a 2006 Opel with a different badge.

I can't seem to get straight information on this... is Buick abandoning the waterfall grille and will just go to using the same design Opel/Vauxhall use? Or was this just a quicky-rush job to get this car on the autoshow circuit, and will get a waterfall grille for production?

[edit] I mean, it's not entirely out of the question... Vauxhall recently abandoned its "V" grille bar.

#4, From what I've seen, the official pictures off this car have the grille shown here.

#4, Yeah, the least they could do is pull a Mercury and put vertical bars in the same grille that's usually horizontal on its corporate twin...

#5, Hmm...so does that mean the waterfall grille is on the way out, or just for this and other direct Opel imports?

#6, I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not... but the Buick waterfall doesn't look too shabby in the Opel grille-shape.

#7, I would assume the latter, but I have no idea. The Encore got the waterfall grille, though, so who knows?

#7, Well, for the past few years that's effectively what Buick did, vertical grille bars in place of Opel's horizontal format a la Mercury vs. Ford. Any sarcasm you find in my statement is probably true. :P

I anticipate this becoming the Chrysler 200 convertible's spiritual successor in the 2016 rental fleet.

#9, That's a good point... I imagine Chrysler deciding against a Sebring/200 convertible replacement is the main reason GM felt it'd be worth it to bring the Cascada to our shores. No competition to worry about in the short-term.

#10, My friend said this is the successor to the Saab 9-3, in terms of pricing, and competition. They both compete (Indirectly) with the E-Class convertible, the BMW 4-series convertible, and Lexus ISC and Infiniti Q60. Pricewise, the Cascada picks up where the Saab left off in the $38,000-$45,000 range, and like the Saab, the Cascada is based on a midsize Opel sedan.
