Description:
Centennial Valley Railroad GP-9 #108 warming up to depart the yard with the MOW (maintenance) train for scheduled track repairs up the line, just as soon as that spring shower finishes blowing through. It dumped a few puddles and left a fastly-fading rainbow.

Done in Photoshop CS6 with the airbrush tools, a few reference photos, and an obsession to detail that was borderline maddening.

CNVY was short on motive power when #108 came up on the market, so they snatched it up and never bothered with a repaint, it still carries the sun-blistered livery of Allegheny Rail, the previous owner. Maybe someday they'll get around to that...

Since the smoke is practically the same color as the thunderstorm clouds, it looks more ironic.

But very impressive

#2, Like rain, on a rainy day? Or a free ride, that you already paid?

#4, Well, rain on your wedding day is NOT ironic.... it's unfortunate. Now, cancelling your original wedding day and moving it because it LOOKED like it was going to rain, but that day was perfect, and your NEW date was rainy? That would be irony.

The Comcast truck we towed... after it nailed a telephone pole? That was ironic too.

Alanis said someone approached her about the song.

Woman: "Hey, you know your song talks about unfortunate situations, not irony."
Alanis: "ok"
Woman:"Oh, but that's the irony!"
Alanis: "Yep"

She was probably thinking 'Jeez, I was just trying to make a freakin song!"
