I used to like the Gelandewagen, then it became all fancy, expensive, and chic... oh God... I'm an automotive hipster!

One of my dry cleaning route customers has a Hennessey G63 AMG in matte black. Even if you don't like the G-Wagen, that's still pretty cool.

But... Hennessey... their reputation leaves a foul taste in my mouth.

Also... high performance trucks... most seem completely ridiculous and stupid, IMO... what's the point of making a tank that can tear up a drag-strip, whilst totally compromising its off-road ability and load carrying capability?

The only high performance trucks that seemed to be alright IMO were the GMC Syclone/Typhoon twins... can't quite put my finger on why...

#3, Guy also has a Hennessey F-150 VelociRaptor 600, so he must have some clout to have gotten two actual vehicles completed and delivered. :P

#1, The same can now be said for the Jeep Wrangler.

I am aghast at how Jeep went from being rugged, attainable, relatively simple off-road vehicles, with some that could also serve as family transport, to a "lifestyle brand".

As much as I kinda like the JL over the slightly-disproportionate JK, it's way too freaking expensive. The Gladiator is a fucking joke. You get the bastard love-child of a Wrangler and RAM pickup at a $20k markup. ...and the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer line is just pure branding bullshit bought by people too stupid to buy something better and get "more vehicle" for their bloated wallets.

In terms of the rest of their lineup, the Compass is... ok, albeit pretty uninspiring. I actually really liked the looks of the Renegade, but it apparently was chock-full of FCA corner-cutting. ...and the Grand Cherokee, well... much like the Wrangler, it's not bad, per se, just, again, massively overpriced for what you get.
