Built in the same factory, they share 95% + mechanical parts (and close to 90% with Volvo S/V40). Interestingly, even though they are the same trim level, the Carisma is decidedly a whole level lower but it does have a slightly more powerful engine. The Carisma was a Danish market car, the Space Star Italian market.

I like that Space Star. I'd imagine it gets fairly good gas mileage too.

I think I mentioned it before, but it looks like the headlights/turn signals remind me of the Chevy Venture and its kin.

#2, I get 37 US MPG during commute (stuck in traffic, some highway - the engine usually runs cold as it's a relatively short drive) and 42 US MPG on the highway, 140-ish. The Space Star uses a lower powered version of the same engine (also common rail, but a different turbo without exhuast gases vectoring) and gets better MPG - can't say I noticed these 13 HP missing having driven it.
