Do they even have enough cars there to justify needing plates? Guess so.

I'd imagine a car chase would be pretty boring too, the cops would just hang out at the gas station.... "He's gotta come by here sometime....."

#2, PA's the same way, "TX" plates for taxis, and plates for busses "BA" for private/commercial busses, "MT" for municipal ones (Mass Transit) and "SB" for school busses

Gets confusing to sort them all out

here we only have collector plates, and then there are the various veteran's plates and other sports shit, and Critical Habitat, which I have.

Tow Truck (RT-12345)
Salvage Yard (WL-12345)
Dealership (K00-00K)
Farm/Agricultural Truck (FM-1234A)
Construction Equipment (SME-000) *special motorized equipment*

Bus, Commercial (BA-12345)
Bus, School (SB-12345)
Bus, Public (MT-12345)

#5, Now, there are still 4 "oddball" plates out there, when the "special interest" plate first became a thing in the mid 90's, there were no rules about colors, so the designers used whatever they liked and printing technology meant they didn't use flat colors, but PAINTED PICTURES.... cue a lot of frustrated cops who couldn't READ them at 30 paces or tell what state they were from, so they lobbied the state and compromised, you want a custom plate? Fine, but use the existing colors. That forced the discontinuation of 4 plates that didn't conform, and as the cars they're attached to slowly die off, they're less and less common, but you still see 1 from time to time: The mutants are
"Flagship Niagra"- FN-XXX White on TAN (this is the one that did em' all in)
"Conserve Wild Animals" - WR-XXXX White on dark green, picture of Burmese Tiger
"Conserve River Habitats" - RC-XXXX Blue on light blue, picture of Otter
"Railroad History" - RR-XXXX White on Orange/Brown, picture of K4 locomotive

One of these appeared on a Mercedes 220S Ponton in San Francisco some years ago.
