I imagine this got traded in for an MKZ or MK-- uh... whatever the hell the rest of their sub-$40k lineup is...

*Googles*

They have FOUR vehicles that start under $40k now?!

As if I wasn't already fearful for Lincolns future, that amount of "entry level" sheetmetal on a dealer's lot is probably indicative of needing to cover the lower-end gap left by Mercury's exit...

#3, What bothers me most is (and I don't know if this is common elsewhere) is that most Lincoln dealers here are standalone dealers that only sell Lincoln, and a shitton of used cars.

#4, At least they still HAVE new cars to sell... this area had, like, five Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealers in the area... all but one were shut down in the post-ChryCo-bankruptcy... two went strictly used cars, but the other two relied on selling *other* new cars... one Isuzu, one Suzuki... and, uh, that didn't quite work out for them.

#5, This is true.

Lawrence went through huge shuffle of dealers because of that. The Briggs group bought most of the dealerplex near 59 highway, so now its Nissan, Subaru, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram (and oddly no Fiat), and a Honda dealer.

Then its one GM dealer, a Toyota and Volkswagen dealer, and a giant dealer with Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Lincoln, Mazda and Mitsubishi. With an entire lot devoted to Ford trucks

Got to admit, I'm glad they are going with just "Continental". The whole MK stuff was annoying as I cared much less about Lincoln as its just badge engineering w/ plastic wood paint, sound deadening, and leather.
