We had a hippie try to pay for his tow with weed once, when we refused, he called the cops.....
How he ended up not arrested at the end of the day is testament to the infinite patience of the SCPD, having reduced the herding of college kids with minimal paperwork down to an art.

#1, This isn't a hippie, it's too clean. This is just someone having fun with the vehicle's popular image. Honestly, as cliched as it might be, I would consider doing something similar to a VW bus.
#4, It would be nice, though, if the economy could be that flexible.
"Damn, I don't have quite enough money for this Blu Ray player. But, I do have $5 and a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, how does that grab you?"
"Yeah, I can't quite pay for this Movado watch. But here's what I'll do: I've got a vintage Weltron "Space Ball" radio with a functioning 8-track, and I can paint your house for you. Deal?"
"Could I interest you in a Marlin .30-30 lever-action rifle? Yeah, I know it's worth way more than the box of tampons I'm buying, but I'll buy enough boxes to make up the difference."
I realize an entire economy couldn't hinge on the swap meet system, but it would make capitalism a bit more straightforward.
