As a consequence of my childhood TV habits, every time I see one of the dwindling few of these, I hear a no-inflection news anchorman saying "The body was found floating in Spruce Creek at around 8am this morning..." as the VHS-quality video shows one of these being solemnly loaded up by a pair of grim-faced Deputies. |

Seems I only see the Oldsmobiles these days for some reason. |

I only ever see the Olds wagons now. The sedans are most often Chevies, though Olds, Buick, and Pontiacs pop up here and there. |

I hardly ever see these at all anymore. Often, its a half-primered, white or blue Caprice sedan on steelies with a lift. |

In the last 10 years - I've only ever seen 2 B-body wagons of indeterminate gender brand.
A grey one was laden with residential paint cans - brushes - tarps - trays - and 3 skuzzy looking men on their way to start their next under the table job. Their car was struggling to negotiate an inclined driveway - and with every singe emissions choked horsepower and their order of large double doubles - the car was going to make it eventually if the driver just kept his foot down long enough.
The other was red and had a small collection of elderly proselytizers getting in their last rounds of the neighbourhood before crawling into their waiting coffins. |
